Updated Guidelines for Diabetic Eye Care

The International Council of Ophthalmology has updated its guidelines for diabetic eye care. The update includes:

  • New evidence on screening and referral criteria, the minimum requirements for a screening vision and retinal examination, follow-up care, and management of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.
  • Recommendations for managing diabetic retinopathy in patients during pregnancy, as well as those with accompanying cataracts.
