Cynthia Matossian
MD, FACS
Dr. Cynthia Matossian is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founder and former Medical Director of Matossian Eye Associates, a multi-specialty practice with locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A recognized leader in refractive cataract surgery and dry eye disease management, she remains highly active as a consultant to pharmaceutical and medical device companies, sharing her deep expertise across clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives.
Dr. Matossian is the Chief Medical Officer of Freya Ophthalmics, Chief Medical Advisor to Bruder-Hilco, and CEO of GPOphtho, a group purchasing organization she founded. She also serves on the Boards of Directors for Physician Recommended Nutraceuticals and LacriSciences. A passionate advocate for workforce development, she founded the American College of Eye Technicians (ACET), a nonprofit organization focused on training and placing individuals from underrepresented backgrounds into eye care roles.
Widely respected for her contributions to the field, Dr. Matossian has been named one of the Top 100 Women in Ophthalmology, honored as an OSN Premier Surgeon, and recognized with both the Ophthalmic World Leaders Visionary Award and the Women in Ophthalmology Champion for Change Award. She is also the creator and host of Eyes on Efficiency, a Healio video series spotlighting practice optimization strategies for physicians.
Dr. Matossian holds academic appointments at Temple University School of Medicine and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. A frequent speaker and panel moderator at national and international conferences, she contributes actively to clinical research and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
