Saad Ahmad

Dr. Saad Ahmad is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who practices medicine in the suburbs of Chicago, specializing in retinal disease management and surgery. He was born and raised in Chicago and attended college at Duke University.
Following college, he obtained his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. After medical school, Dr. Ahmad moved back home to Chicago to complete his general medical training at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Subsequently, he returned to Duke to complete his ophthalmology training. Dr. Ahmad later went on to train in advanced retinal surgery techniques at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Ahmad is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and a member of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Ahmad has conducted research dealing with eye tumors, genetic eye diseases, macular degeneration, eye bleeding disorders, macular puckers, and diabetic eye disease. His work has been presented at international meetings in North America and Europe, and he has received funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Research to Prevent Blindness Foundation. Dr. Ahmad routinely lectures to other health care professionals regarding the treatment of retinal diseases.
