Roomasa Channa

Roomasa Channa, MD, is an Associate Professor and co-Director of the Artificial Intelligence Unit in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She is a NEI funded clinician-scientist with a research focus on leveraging automated retinal image analysis techniques to identify early retinal changes and prevent vision loss among patients with diabetes. She has areas of expertise in diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, ocular trauma, retina, macula and vitreous diseases, and retinal laser.
She completed her ophthalmology residency followed by vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
