Neel Vaidya

Neel Vaidya, MD, MPH, MBA

Neel S. Vaidya, MD, MPH, MBA, is an ophthalmologist with advanced training in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery. During his Fellowship with Chicago Cornea Consultants™, he joined the practice as a full-time associate in the summer of 2021.

Dr. Vaidya is passionate about providing medical and surgical care for patients with a variety of ophthalmologic diseases, with a specific interest in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery. Dr. Vaidya also has an interest in disorders of the eyelid and oculoplastic surgery as well. Dr. Vaidya’s research interests include optimizing endothelial keratoplasty techniques, evaluating new treatments for dry eye and other ocular surface diseases, and evaluating refractive outcomes in patients undergoing cataract surgery.

Dr. Vaidya has published several articles in several well-respected peer-review journals, has served as a reviewer for journal articles and research grants, co-authored book chapters, and has presented at national medical conferences.

Dr. Vaidya completed both his Bachelor of Science and Medical degrees at The Ohio State University, where he was enrolled in the accelerated honors BS/MD program.

After completing his undergraduate and medical school training at Ohio State University, Dr. Vaidya moved to Chicago to pursue his residency training in ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center, where he was elected Chief Resident.

Dr. Vaidya completed his master’s in public health (MPH) degree along with his master’s in business administration (MBA) degree at the prestigious Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

In his spare time, Dr. Vaidya enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, playing golf and tennis, and exploring Chicago’s premier restaurant scene.
