Heidelberg receives FDA clearance for updated SPECTRALIS software

Ophthalmology 360

Heidelberg Engineering announced FDA clearance of the latest version of its SPECTRALIS® software for multimodal retinal imaging.

The release introduces a 250 kHz scan speed option for OCT Angiography (OCTA), adding to the existing 85 and 125 kHz settings available through SPECTRALIS with SHIFT Technology. According to the company, the new setting enables faster OCTA image acquisition and is supported by updated TruTrack Active Eye Tracking functionality.

The software update also includes expanded multimodal imaging capabilities through the addition of the Green Autofluorescence Module.

With the latest release, users can select among multiple scan speeds to align imaging protocols with workflow and clinical requirements.
