Abdelrahman Elhusseiny

Dr. Elhusseiny is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist with a particular interest in the pediatric anterior segment. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Cairo University, Egypt where he obtained a master’s degree in vision sciences. After that, he did a research fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute where he worked on cost analysis models of different retinal and glaucoma diseases. He completed two years of pediatric ophthalmology clinical fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital/Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He is currently at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a research associate at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He has co-authored more than 90 PubMed-indexed articles, 10 book chapters, and over 50 conference abstracts. He is a member of the editorial board of BMC ophthalmology, PLOS ONE, and frontiers in medicine. He serves as a reviewer in 17 ophthalmology journals including ophthalmology glaucoma, survey of ophthalmology, and Eye and vision. He is a member of the young ophthalmologist and public information committees of the American association of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus (AAPOS).
