Beeran Meghpara

Beeran Meghpara, MD, is the Director of Refractive Surgery and the Co-Chief of the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
He has extensive experience with advanced technology intraocular lens implants that correct astigmatism and presbyopia.
He is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and laser refractive surgery. His interests include layer-specific corneal transplantation, anterior segment repair, and complex cataract surgery. As the Director of Refractive Surgery, Dr. Meghpara is an expert in LASIK, PRK, and phakic intraocular lens surgery. While practicing at a large referral center, he has developed a special interest in diagnosing and managing the rare complications after refractive surgery.
He has authored numerous articles and delivered lectures at local, national, and international meetings. He is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents on the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital and was awarded the prestigious Golden Apple Resident Teaching Award in 2019.
Dr. Meghpara graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Meghpara completed a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado.
He has a faculty appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and is a team ophthalmologist for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team.
