Erin Shriver
Erin Shriver, MD, FACS is a Clinical Professor and the Jim O’Brien Gross and Donnita Gross Chair in Ophthalmology within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa. She is actively involved in clinical practice, teaching, research, and advocacy.
Dr. Shriver has been passionately involved in Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) for many years. She was President of WIO, chaired the Summer Symposium, and has been an active member of the Board of Directors since 2014. Dr. Shriver has also served as President of the Iowa Academy of Ophthalmology and participated in the Leadership Development Program through AAO. She is the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) Delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA), Secretary of the ASOPRS Foundation, and Chair of the ASOPRS Thesis Committee.
Her research interests include advances in oculoplastic techniques, critical analysis of current oculoplastic practices, establishing novel metrics for eyelid position and aesthetics, thyroid eye disease, intimate partner violence in ophthalmology patients, and the physics of eyelid malposition. When she is not working, she enjoys exercising and spending time with her husband and sons.
