Ophthalmology 360

Ophthalmologists recently reported their experience with newer devices available to treat dry eye disease symptoms, including:

  • The LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation System (Johnson & Johnson Vision, Santa Ana, California), which warms and massages the glands and allows the patient to be passive.
  • The MiBo Thermoflo (MiBo Medical Group, Dallas) performs well in warming the meibomian glands and patients can receive treatment passively.
  • The BlephEx treatment (Franklin, Tennessee) works best for seborrheic blepharitis or staph hypersensitivity.
  • The Moist Heat Eye Compress (Bruder Healthcare Company, Alpharetta, Georgia) works well for follow-up treatments.
