In this case report, a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is suspected to have developed progressive keratoconus (KC) after standard corneal cross-linking (CXL) due to abnormal eye rubbing, which is a repetitive motor stereotypy associated with ASD symptoms.
The patient was retreated with CXL and underwent behavioral modification intervention related to habitual eye rubbing, which prevented further KC progression.
