Eye health entrepreneur named one of the most influential people in life sciences industry

Posted on

Scott Tannenbaum, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MYZE, a digitally-native platform that offers customized daily eye care routines, was announced as a winner of PM360’s 8th Annual ELITE Awards.

The awards recognize the most influential people in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Mr Tannenbaum won in the Entrepreneurs category.

“We congratulate Scott on this recognition and for keenly listening to our colleagues and patients. As physicians, we want to continually address the needs of dry eye sufferers, and now more than ever before there is an enormous unmet need for patient-focused support and ongoing management tools,” said Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS, Chair of the MYZE Medical Advisory Board, President of the American College of Eye Surgeons (ACES), and Founder and Partner of the American College of Eye Technicians (ACET) in a press release. “We know that there is a tsunami of dry eye disease and digital eye strain coming.  People are spending more and more of their time on computers and utilizing multiple screens throughout the day and we know the face of dry eye is changing. It is exciting to chaperone the emergence of MYZE, as it is my contention that earlier intervention and ongoing management can only assist in improving outcomes and quality of life for those suffering from dry eye and other ocular surface related issues.”

“We plan on transforming the Eye Health patient experience by helping make eye care part of everyone’s daily self care routine,” said Scott Tannenbaum, Founder of MYZE in a statement.  “I want to ensure that all patients and providers using our platform have magical moments and memorable experiences.  This begins with a patient centric, yet scientifically-rigorous approach to screen for dry eye, providing access to highly-personalized, affordable, and expert-recommended daily routines, along with novel disease-state education, daily inspiration, tracking and monitoring, as well as providing connectivity to some of the most influential eye care professionals in the United States.”
