Using a Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) score, amongst others, most videos uploaded to YouTube on thyroid eye disease (TED) were of good quality and should be utilized by providers to get information to their patients, according to a study.

There were 94 videos included in this study, with mean DISCERN, JAMA, global quality score and usefulness score were 55.27 ± 16.57, 3.04 ± 0.64, 3.44 ± 0.93, and 3.23 ± 1.1, respectively.

More than half of the videos (56.4%) were uploaded by physicians, followed by institutions/private health institutions (31.9%). Videos by health channels and patients accounted for 7.4% and 4.3% of the content, respectively.

All scoring systems showed a statistically significant and strong positive correlation with each other. A statistically significant positive correlation was also observed between viewing rate, likes, and comments.
