Ignore Social Media at Your Own Peril

Posted on

Getting started on social media may seem intimidating—something that you’d just as soon ignore. But do so at your own peril, says Georgette M. Pascale, founder and CEO at Pascale Communications. She advised breaking things down to four basic steps:

  • Set a clear strategy. For starters, use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • Manage your online reputation. Keep an eye on comments and reviews on your web site, as well as reviews on third-party sites such as Google, Yelp, and Health Grades.
  • Establish yourself as an expert. Start by maximizing your presence at conferences and posting accordingly.
  • Tap social media experts as your online presence grows.
