Hyaluronic Acid, Galactoxyloglucan in Combination Improve Dry Eye Symptoms

Posted on

A preservative-free combination of 0.4% hyaluronic acid and 0.2% galactoxyloglucan can improve dry eye symptoms, according to a study published in Clinical Ophthalmology.

Researchers used Keratograph 5M, a new corneal topographer, to investigate changes.

In this prospective longitudinal, single-arm interventional cohort study, 20 patients with dry eye (40 eyes) were treated with preservative-free artificial tears every 3 hours.

Dry eye symptoms improved after 1 month of treatment with preservative-free 0.4% hyaluronic acid and 0.2% galactoxyloglucan. Keratograph 5M was found to objectively detect these changes.
